With another fantastic summer coming to a close, I would like to welcome you all back for an exciting year ahead. I think I've hit the jackpot with all of you in my class this year...I couldn't be more excited. My family and I enjoyed watching all the thrilling action and personal accounts during the Beijing Olympics this summer so what better way to begin the year than with an Olympic focus. The Grade 6s will be examining what it takes to be a leader and what makes an individual extraordinary. The Grade 7s are exploring Participating and Giving Your Personal Best. Once again, what are some of the characteristics that define a winner, not only in athletics but in life as well? The Olympic spirit, which is composed by good sportsmanship, co-operation, perseverance, determination and a mutual respect for everyone, is something that we strive for in our classroom. We will work together to help everyone be the best he or she can be. Together we can do anything.
